Sao Paulo Beats Botafogo 3-1

Sao Paulo came from behind to beat Botagofo 3-1 in the Brazilian soccer championship on Wednesday, Xinhua reported.

Sao Paulo improved their unbeaten streak to five games in their run to defend their national title.

Visiting Botafogo opened scoring in the 20th minute when Lucio Flavio  fired the ball past Sao Paulo's goalie Denis.

Sao Paulo responded 16 minutes later as Jorge Wagner converted a penalty kick and took the lead through Washington in the 45th minute.

The home team scored once again in the 71st minute when Dagoberto anticipated Botafogo's goalie, Castillo, and tapped the ball over his head and into the net for his team's third goal of the night.

Sao Paulo sits in the fifth place with 27 points. Botafogo, having suffered their first loss in six games remains in 13th with 19.
