Thursday, 6 August 2009Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin pays Turkey a one-day long visit on August 6. During his official visit, Putin is going to meet with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan.
Russian PM has received an earlier invitation from Turkish PM ErdoÄŸan. Putin is going to come straight to Ankara to the EsenboÄŸa International Airport. Broad security measures have been taken in Ankara in connection with Russian Prime Minister's visit. It is planned that approximately 2.000 Turkish policemen will be charged for security of Russian officials during Putin´s visit. 40 security officers from Russia will also accompany Russian Prime Minister.
Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan are expected to discuss economy and energy topics, and issues concerning regional and international cooperation. Public opinion hopes several bilateral agreements will be signed.
After the meeting a press conference is planned in which prime ministers will take part. Putin's visit will end at 5 p.m.
