Uzbek leader receives credentials from British, Georgian envoys |

Thursday, 6 August 2009New ambassadors of Georgia and the United Kingdom presented credentials to President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov on 5 August in Tashkent, UzA reported.
Receiving Georgiy Kublashvili and Rupert Joy, the head of the state wished them success in their mission in Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek-Georgian relations are developing in the spirit of the Friendship and cooperation treaty signed in 1995.
The two countries cooperate in the fields of trade and transport communications, as well as other areas.
Ambassador Georgiy Kublashvili said his main task was to maximally expand the scale of cooperation with consideration of the available potential.
The relations between Uzbekistan and the Great Britain are developing in various spheres, including economic and humanitarian areas.
Britain is one of Uzbekistan's largest trade partners in Europe. 195 joint ventures created in cooperation with British investors are operating in Uzbekistan. Besides, 55 British companies have their representative offices here.
The Westminster International University in Tashkent is one example of the cooperation in higher education. A number of Uzbek universities signed cooperation documents with British higher educational institutions.
Rupert Joy said Britain was interested in boosting economic cooperation and expanding relations in the field of education. |
