CIS countries are developing a draft concept on cooperation in cultural sphere. The document was discussed at the meeting of expert group at the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk on 28-29 July.
The representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan participated in the event, the CIS Executive Committee reported.
The experts have discussed suggestions and remarks on the project, and made a number of changes and additions on its text. The Russian side stated the requirement for reworking of the document, with a glance to the activity of the Board on humanitarian cooperation, Intergovernmental fund on humanitarian cooperation of CIS countries, annual forums on creative and scientific intelligence. Thus, their representative extended readiness to conduct this work in cooperation with colleagues from Azerbaijan. The completed draft concept must be represented to the Executive Committee till 20 January this year.
The draft concept corresponds conformed by CIS countries totality of official opinions on purposes, tasks and priority directions of cooperation. Main principles provided in the concept are preservation of cultural heritage, supporting theatrical, musical and visual arts, development of cultural industries.
The implementation of the document creates conditions for consolidation of CIS countries efforts, directed on preservation and development of national culture.
