Wednesday, 29 July 2009The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, during the government meeting on the results of social and economic development in the first half of 2009 positively assessed the government's work, "Kazakhstan Today" agency reports citing the president's press service.
"The head of the state positively assessed the government's work, having noted positive tendencies of social and economic development of the country. The President has given a number of assignments related to realization of the anti-crisis measures in priority branches of the economy of Kazakhstan," the press service informed.
"Despite the difficulties, we have managed to keep the macroeconomic indicators under control," N. Nazarbayev emphasized.
According to the press service, as a whole, despite the consequences of the global economic crisis, the economy in Kazakhstan has grown, which totaled 3 % in II quarter of 2009.
It became possible owing to increase of the level of "Kazakhstan's share in purchases in various spheres of economy."
Owing to the measures undertaken by the state, the situation in financial and banking sphere has stabilized. Growth of deposits in Kazakhstan banks has amounted to 34 %. The economy crediting has increased by 18 %.
Following the results of the first half of 2009, total external debt has decreased by almost 25 %.
