Friday, 24 July 2009A two-day international roundtable meeting was held in Tashkent on 20-21 July this year. During conversations, national and foreign experts and specialists of political and economical spheres discussed the reforms pursued in the modern Uzbekistan.
The dialogue was organized by the Institute for Civil Society Studies, Center of Political Studies, Ministry of Economy of Uzbekistan, OSCE Projects Coordinator in Uzbekistan, US National Democratic Institute and the European Institute of International Relations.
National experts and more than 30 foreign experts from the Great Britain, Germany, India, Iran, China, Kuwait, Pakistan, Russia, USA, Turkey, Ukraine, Japan, Central Asian countries gathered in Tashkent to discuss the course of political reforms in Uzbekistan, basic directions of modernization and democratic renewal of society, and issues of formation of the developed free market economy, realization of state social programs and Anti-Crisis Program, intended for 2009-2012.
Presentations and reports of participants of the international dialogue became some kind of presentation for strategies and political-legal experience of Uzbekistan on sphere of formation of national statehood, civil society, democratic renewal and modernization of the country, liberalization of social-political and social-economical life of the republic.
Characteristics and achievements of our country on political and economical spheres, democratization of national electoral system, content of fundamental reforms in Uzbekistan are revealed by bright examples and real implications.
The participants of the dialogue continued discussing the issues in 21 July, the common theme of which was "Anti crisis program as a way for overcoming negative consequences of the world financial economic crisis in conditions of Uzbekistan".
In the conditions of world financial economic crisis as important task of every country remains provision of citizen with stable work, achieving dynamical and balanced growth of real sector of the economy, and also systemic, sequential solving of tasks on further stable economical development of the country and increasing living standards of the population.
The participants of the event noted that there is no single explanation of occasion and nature of world financial-economic crisis. Its appearance is related to global disparities between consuming and accumulations, between financial markets and sector of real economy.
They agreed with conclusions of the book of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov "World financial-economic crisis, ways and measures on its overcoming in conditions of Uzbekistan" that says "global financial crisis has demonstrated serious problems and requirement for cardinal reforming of operating world financial bank system, which basically serve for its corporative interests only, carrying speculative operations on credit and financial markets".
Participants of the round table noted that the "Uzbek model" on reformation and modernization of the economy at present time securely provides stable improvement of economy structure, active creation of manufactures on producing ready competitive goods, increasing export volumes by overcoming its previous unilateral directivity.
The developed strategy of export oriented industry, including acceleration and deepening of structural reforms, provides stable growth and effectiveness.
Thus, the economy of Uzbekistan today has stable growth dynamics. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), economy of Uzbekistan showed soundness to global recession and support real growth of GDP. Main macroeconomic indicators of growth rates of GDP, which during last five years in average was exceeding 8%, in 2008 - 9%, and by the IMF forecasts this year will comprise nearly 7%.
The measures taken in Uzbekistan, foreseen in the Anti crisis program and other social programs, allow the country to overcome the consequences of the world crisis, providing stable economical growth of real sector of economy, stable socioeconomic development of the country and improve the living standards of the population.
Exchange of views on the issues of further positions of the country in after the crisis period, implementation of innovative technologies, supporting competitiveness of the country in international arena, was conducted in the course of discussions.
Specialists and experts noted the requirement for deeper studying and wide spread of gained experience of Uzbekistan in sphere of bank systems, modernization, technical update and diversification of production, wide implementation of innovative technologies. |
