Thursday, 23 July 2009Kyrgyz presidential elections have been recognized as successful. Voter turnout has exceeded 50 percent and reached 60 percent, the Central Election Committee's website said.
The number of voters hit 1 million 712,000 people, i.e. almost 60 percent of total number of the Republic's voters. This information was reported at 15:15 local time (13:15 Moscow time) by the Central Election Committee, RIA Novosti said.
According to Kyrgyz legislation, voter turnout must reach 50 percent for elections to be recognized. |
