Azerbaijan conducts preliminary work to build two highest complex automatic metrological stations in Europe on the top of Tufandag (4,192 meters) and Shahdag (4,250 meters) mountains, being a constituent part of the Complex Hydro Meteorological and Ecological Scientific Research Center to be established in future, Azerbaijani Ecological and Natural Resources Minister Huseyn Bagirov said. He was speaking to a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the results of socio-economic development in the first half of 2009. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev presided over the gathering.
The Center of Metrological Conditions and Glaciers Observation and Careful Study of Flora and Fauna is being constructed at a height of 3,000 meters above sea level to realize the Complex Hydro Meteorological and Ecological Scientific Research Center project in the territory of the Tufandag and Shahdag mountains.
Moreover, web-cameras will be installed in different places of this territory enabling us to gather valuable information and each Azerbaijani citizen to see these frames through internet. Solar and wind generations will work in autonomous regime to ensure the complex's uninterrupted activity, Bagirov added.
