U.S. authorities say an alleged gang member who has been on the FBI's list of most wanted criminals has been captured in Mexico.

Unmarked tombs are seen at municipal cemetery in Tijuana, Mexico Emgidio Precaido, Junior was captured last Friday in a rural town in the western state of Nayarit. Precaido is accused of seriously wounding a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy during a routine traffic stop nine years ago.

In another development, Mexican soldiers have arrested a suspected drug trafficker near the U.S. border.

The military says Luis Ibarra was carrying $3.6 million in cash and several pieces of jewelry when he was detained.

Mexican President Felipe Calderon has deployed 36,000 troops to fight drug gangs in his country.
