In connection with the coming into force of the law of Azerbaijan Republic, dated June 30 2009, on "Amendments and supplements to some legislative acts of Azerbaijan Republic due to applying the law of Azerbaijan Republic on "Struggle against legalization of money or other property acquired by criminal means, and financing of terrorism", Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to apply the law, AzerTaj state news agency reported.

Under the presidential decree, the Cabinet of Ministers was commissioned to develop proposals to bring existing legislation into conformity with this law within a month.

The government was also commissioned to bring the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers and the bodies of central executive power into conformity with the law.

According to the decree, the authority "of the relevant executive authorities", stipulated by the Article 14-1.1 of the law on "Currency Regulation" is implemented by the State Border Service.
