Iran have lined up friendlies against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bahrain to prepare for their 2011 AFC Asian Cup qualifying campaign, AFC reported.

Iran, who are leading Group E with four points from two games, will play Bosnia and Herzegovina on August 12 at the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo.

Afshin Ghotbi's men, who hammered Singapore 6-0 in the opener before being held goalless by Thailand, will face fellow 2011 AFC Asian Cup hopefuls Bahrain on August 31 in Manama.

Iran are also negotiating with Uzbekistan and Oman to play friendlies before they face Jordan in their next two matches of the qualifiers in November this year.

The Iranian Football Federation recently reposed its faith in Ghotbi despite the team's failure to qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

But the recent retirements of Eintracht Frankfurt's Mehdi Mahdavikia, Persepolis ace Ali Karimi and Vfl Bochum's Vahid Hashemian have created a stiff challenge for Ghotbi ahead of these fixtures.
