Tuesday, 21 July 2009Estonian international Andres Oper joined China Super League side Shanghai Shenhua for six months over the weekend, AFC reported.
Oper (pictured), who terminated his contract with Dutch club Road JC last month, will replace Argentina striker Hernan Barcos who left the Chinese outfit recently.
"I have been collecting information about Shanghai Shenhua and the China Super League from the Internet," Oper, who scored 35 goals in 112 appearances for Estonia, told the club's official website.
"One of my friends also told me that the league is much harder than expectations.
"I am ready for the challenges as Shanghai Shenhua is one of the best clubs of China and we hope to achieve success this season."
Oper also played for Danish club Aalborg Bk and Russian Premier League FC Torpedo Moscow before joining Roda JC in 2005.
Shanghai Shenhua are sixth in the China Super League standings with 22 points from 15 games. The league will resume on August 2 after the summer break. |
