Azerbaijan, Baku, July 4 / Trend News, A.Huseynbala /

"Holding the next meeting of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia during this month makes it possible to reach certain progresses in the solution of the problem," head of international relations department of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, Novruz Mammadov, told the website of ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP).

"The negotiations process on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement has intensified. The Presidents of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev and Armenia, Serj Sarkisyan, have met for five times. The next meeting will be one more warning to Armenia. Because Azerbaijan will never withdraw from its principal position," Novruzov said.

The Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia are supposed to meet in mid July in Moscow.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan lost all of Nagorno-Karabakh except for Shusha and Khojali in December 1991. In 1992-93, Armenian armed forces occupied Shusha, Khojali and 7 districts surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh. Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations.
