The secretary-general of the Organization of American States (OAS) said here Friday he would immediately recommend the suspension of Honduras from the regional group due to its post-coup rulers' refusal to reinstate ousted President Manuel Zelaya, Xinhua reported.

OAS chief Jose Miguel Insulza was speaking to reporters after he failed to persuade the interim government of Honduras to reinstate Zelaya, who was deposed after Sunday's military coup.

The OAS has given Honduras' interim government until noon on Saturday to restore Zelaya to power, or face expulsion.

I lived on the Island of Roatan Honduras from 1994 to 2002. I came to know the island and all the people in every class. As I returned this year I was appaled at the rioting and burning of government buildings. This was something we never witnessed . The Island I knew all these years that supported the mainland of Honduras with their revenues from tourism cruise ships etc had fallen into a scary situation with all the residents becoming fearful of President Zelava trying to turn Honduras into a communist country.
I can't believe our country (U.S.A.) is aligning with Presidents such as Zelaya, Chavez, and castro. I am personally so proud of HOnduras taking action against Zelaya and what he was attempting to do. Or better yet...I can und
erstand Chevez and castro but the U.S getting involed and going along with suspending Honduras from the OAS
I have joined with millions of Honduras in prayer for the return on the safety and the support of all Countries desiring Democracy
