Mexican Traveler Arrested With Million In Cash

A domestic traveler was arrested at an airport with 1.1 million pesos (83,000 U.S. dollars) in cash found in his luggage, the public security ministry said Thursday, Xinhua reported.

Luis Fernando Castellanos Caly Mayor, 23, was arrested after a routine bag inspection at the airport in Tuxtla Gutierrez, capital city of Chiapas state, southeastern Mexico.

He could not give a reasonable explanation for carrying the cash.

Mayor had arrived in Tuxtla Guiterrez Wednesday night on a flight from the Mexico City's International Airport, the ministry said.
