Tuesday, 30 June 2009A Turkish aircraft operator aims to have 100 million USD of turnover by the end of 2009, the manager said on Monday.
Manager of Turkish registered aircraft operator "Corendon Airlines" put the company's year-end turnover target around 100 million USD.
"We have flown to new destinations and turned the crisis into an opportunity, manager Yildiray Karaer told AA correspondent.
Karaer said the company increased its fleet, and carried more than 170,000 passengers in five months.
"We have started to fly to Poland, Denmark, Estonia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Czech Republic, and Macedonia," he said.
Karaer said the company aimed to carry 1 million passengers till the end of 2009.
The manager said Turkish private airline and charter companies had a better prestige in Europe today when compared with the past, thanks to effective measures taken by Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
Karaer also said that Corendon Airlines would by two more Boeing aircraft in 2010 and start flying to Scandinavian countries and Kazakhstan.
The Corendon Airlines had a 75 million USD turnover in 2008.
Corendon Airlines is a Turkish registered aircraft operator. Corendon Group is a group of companies located mainly in the Netherlands, Belgium and Turkey, whose main field of business is tourism. The airline was founded in 2004. Flight operations started in April 2005. Basic certifications of the company include JAR-OPS 1 Air Operator Certificate, JAR-145 Line Maintenance Authorisation for Boeing 737-300/400/500 aircraft, TUV ISO 9001 Quality System Certification.
Main flight destinations are Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Brussels, Paris, Strasbourg, Marseille, Rome, Tirana, Tel-Aviv. Full charter, ACMI and wet lease operations have a major share in company operations and these operations have been performed in more than 50 countries and 150 cities around the world.
Performed flight hours per year is 6,200 in 2005, 10,500 in 2006 and 14,000 in 2007. Yearly number of carried passengers are 220,000 in 2005, 470,000 in 2006 and 780,000 in 2007, which shows strong growth trends for the company. |
