A woman in her twenties committed suicide by throwing herself from halfway up the Eiffel Tower, Agence France-Presse reported, without saying where it got the information, Bloomberg reported.
The woman slipped through a security barrier on the second floor and crashed onto a restaurant patio on the first floor of the tower, the news service said. The Paris monument, which attracts some 6 million visitors annually, has about four or five such suicides a year, according to AFP.
