Stavros Psiharis, editor of To Vima, stated a written excuse for comments about Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan's postponed visit to Athens. He said that was an unforgivable mistake.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan was going to visit Greece on June 20, 2009 for the opening of the new Acropolis Museum. Yet Erdogan postponed his visit to Athens due to health issues last minute. Erdogan suffered hypertension, which caused him to cancel all his programs on Sunday too.

After the postponement, three major newspapers in Greece printed stories about visit which has never been happened. Despite the fact that the visit never took place these newspapers ran stories with pictures and analysis of the meeting.

The Ethnos newspaper mistakenly published a photograph of the Greek foreign minister, Dora Bakoyianni with former Turkish foreign minister, Ali Babacan instead of the current foreign minister Ahmet Davudoglu.

Newspapers even published a photograph of Erdogan with Karamanlis and they commented "even this warm handshake was not able to make relations better".

The Vima newspaper described the meeting with Greek prime minister; Kostas Karamanlis went on an "icy atmosphere".

The Eleutherotypia newspaper put the story on their website proving that number of issues such as immigration, and new technologies were discussed.

Newspapers even published the conversation between two Prime Ministers.
Those false news, caused discussions about credibility of the Greek newspapers which wrote stories before events happen.
