In the elections of the Council of Europe Secretary, Georgia will rely on the fact that each candidates how much will take into account interests of Georgia, Member of the parliament majority Georgi Kandelaki, who attends the CE session in Strasbourg, said.


The election of the Council of Europe secretary general will be held on June 24. Terry Davis's 5-year office term expired. Candidates for this position are called the representatives of Poland and Norway.


"We will focus on degree of lobbying for the Georgian issue, after the Georgian-Russian war, and what cooperation will Georgia have with the Council of Europe," Kandelaki said.
