Three new cases of A/H1N1 flu have been confirmed in Finland Saturday, raising the total number of diagnosed cases to 24, local media reported.

Before Saturday, three were reported on Friday, and five new cases were reported on Thursday, Xinhua reported.

All of the diagnosed cases in Finland have come from other countries, especially among travelers returning from the United States.

Finnish public health authorities are urging people returning from Mexico, the United States, Canada, Australia and Chile to monitor their own state of health for at least a week after coming back to Finland, and to contact a health centre if any flu symptoms emerge.

The World Health Organization estimates the number of confirmed A/H1N1 infections at over 44,000.
