Thursday, 18 June 2009Turkey's energy minister has said that the agreement on Nabucco project would be signed in July the latest.
Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz replied to questions at a ceremony held in Istanbul on the occasion of Turkish Akenerji's partnership with Czech power utility CEZ on Tuesday.
Commenting on the progress with the Nabucco Project, Yildiz said, "the important point for Turkey is the signing of an agreement that meets its needs and comply with its growth rate. It does not matter if we achieve such a goal through Nabucco or via talks and agreements with other countries. The agreement on Nabucco project will be signed in July the latest".
Tourism and culture connected countries to each other in the past, Yildiz said, "energy pipelines have undertaken such a role in our present day."
Yildiz said that Turkey currently had a remarkable cooperation with Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, Iraq, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan within this framework. |
