Monday, 15 June 2009The Turkish culture minister participated in hotel inauguration ceremonies in Turkmenistan on Monday.
Turkey's Culture & Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay attended the inaugural ceremonies of four hotels built by Turkish contractors in Avaza National Tourism Zone on the coasts of the Caspian Sea in Turkmenistan.
Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow aims to create a tourism zone in his country, similar to Dubai and is therefore exerting efforts to establish a free tourism zone in Avaza.
The project to construct holiday and treatment facilities on a 7,500 hectares of plot consists of three stages. In the first stage, Turkmenistan aims to invest some 4 billion USD in the construction. The first stage was launched at the end of 2007.
Around 40 foreign companies were interested in the first stage of the project, whereas Turkish companies undertook the majority of the construction which cost over 4 billion USD.
Turkey's Garanti Koza undertook the construction of WTA Tennis Tournament court worth 28 million Euros, and an electrical power plant worth 249 million Euros.
The Sehil company of Turkey will build a 25-million-Euro hotel and 62-million-Euro sanatorium with a capacity to treat 900 people.
Turkey's Polimeks will construct a yacht club worth 25 million USD, Ickale company has undertaken a project to construct a 8-million-USD hotel, and Engin Group will build a trade center worth 7 million USD. |
