Tuesday, 9 June 2009Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz attended the 3rd International Natural Gas Symposium in Istanbul on Tuesday.
Recalling that G-8 energy ministers held a meeting in Rome last week, Yildiz said that Turkey participated in the meeting as an observer country. Yildiz said that participants discussed how global economic crisis influenced energy and natural gas sectors.
He said that the global economic crisis seriously affected energy sector. Yildiz added that energy and natural gas sectors should not slow down due to the crisis. He said that international money should be canalized to proper projects.
Yildiz said that the shrinkage in Turkish natural gas sector was less than it was in other participant countries in G-8 meeting. Thus, he added, Turkey should continue its investments in this sector. |
