Monday, 18 May 2009Turkey's Ambassador in Lefkosa Sakir Fakili paid a visit of courtesy to the Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Dervis Eroglu on Monday and wished Eroglu success in his tenure as the prime minister of the TRNC.
Speaking to reporters while receiving Fakili, Eroglu said that he is pleased to see Ambassador Fakili at the TRNC Prime Ministry.
"Fakili's visit took place on the same day we received a vote of confidence and began our program as the new TRNC Government," Eroglu said.
We will continue to cooperate with the Republic of Turkey and make efforts to serve the Turkish Cypriots, Eroglu said.
Ambassador Fakili, in his part, said that he visited Eroglu today to congratulate him.
"Eroglu is an experienced statesman. It is a great chance for Eroglu to have formed the TRNC Government without a coalition. The Republic of Turkey will continue to support the TRNC," Fakili said. |
