Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated on Sunday Aysel Teymurzade and Arash, who represented the country at Eurovision-2009 song contest , AzerTaj state news agency reported.

The Head of State said Aysel and Arash on the phone that they worthily represented Azerbaijan in Europe, praised their accomplishment and wished them new successes.

First place at Eurovision-2009 won Norway, the second - Iceland, the third - Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan took part in the Eurovision Song Contest for the second time. Last year the country won the eighth place.
