Pope Benedict XVI has completed a visit to the Middle East, a pilgrimage to sacred land,  Euronews reported.

In the final speech the Pontiff noted that most unfortunate that he had seen was a "security fence" that separates Israelis and Palestinians and he said he hopes that it will not last forever.

Also, the Pope returned to the theme of the Holocaust and described the impression made on him by Museum "Yad va-Shem": "It reminded me of the impression that I had three years ago in Auschwitz, where many Jews - mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, friends - have been brutally destroyed  by godless regime propagandizing anti-Semitism and hatred. This horrible page of history must not be forgotten or denied."

Recently, Israeli politicians criticized Pope's speech delivered on Monday, in which the Pontiff allegedly gave little attention to the victims of the Holocaust.

During the five-day visit, Benedict XVI visited the shrines, revered by the Christians, Muslims and Jews. He met with the leaders of Israel and the Palestinian territories, calling on both to promote peace in the Middle East in accordance with the formula "two states for two peoples."
