Rocket Attacks Kills 3 Civilians, Wound 6 In E. Afghanistan

Four missiles fired by insurgents hit Khost city, capital of Khost province of eastern Afghanistan, Friday night killing three civilians and wounding six others, officials said on Saturday, Xinhua reported.
  
Amir Padshah Mangal, provincial public health director, told Xinhua that one missile landed in Mosque in eastern part of city near a NATO military base, killing three civilians and injuring six others.
  
Meantime, provincial police chief Abdul Qayum Baqizoi confirmed the incident and added that missiles were fired form Gorbaz district in southern Khost city.
  
Baqizoi also added that three other rockets landed in inhabited area but causing no causalities.
  
Furthermore, press department of U.S. - led Coalition Forces in Khost city told reporters Saturday that their forces killed five armed militants in Gorbaz district Friday night as they were carrying weapons on camels.
  
Taliban militants, who have vowed to launch a spring offensive against Afghan government and international troops, in a suicide car bombing last Wednesday, hit one U.S. military base outside Khost city, leaving seven Afghan workers dead and injuring 21 others.
