Syrian President Bashar al-Asad said on Monday that nobody should have any doubts about Turkey's successful efforts in Syria-Israel talks, The Journal of Turkish Weekly reported

Speaking at a joint press conference with Turkish President Abdullah Gul, al-Asad said that Syria wanted peace with Israel, however, it was also determined not to let go off any territory.

Commenting on the developments in Palestine, al-Asad said that Palestinian groups should reach an agreement among themselves.

Al-Asad also said that there would be progress in the solution of other problems in the region as well if the conflict between Israel and Palestine was solved.

Upon a question on cooperation between Turkey, Syria and Iran, al-Asad said the three countries had common goals and there was a collaboration between them.

Pointing to Turkey's clear stance on issues concerning the Middle East, al-Asad said that no other country did what Turkey managed to do for the Palestinian people during the recent attacks to Gaza.

After the press conference, Turkish President Gul attended a banquet hosted in his honor by al-Asad.
