During his visit to Poland, the Prime Minister of Turkey Rajab Tayyib Erdogan said that if Turkey is not admitted to the European Union, the organization will be a Christian club, Turkish TRT2 TV channel reported.

"Without Turkey, the EU is a Christian club," Erdogan said, adding that the EU must require from Turkey the same things that requires from other member states.

"Turkey wants to gain friend, but not enemy," Erdogan said. He added that the EU demonstrates not fair, but preconceived position towards Turkey.

"What is the matter, some countries join the EU within one week, but Turkey's membership has been prolonged for long years," the Prime Minister said.
