Azerbaijani, Russian Media and Ngo To Expand Relations: Head Of Presidential Administration Department

The relations between the media and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) of Azerbaijan and Russia will be strengthened. 

"The visit focused on the Azerbaijani and Russian non-governmental organizations' (NGO) support to develop the relations between the two countries. The parties exchanged opinions to implement this activity in future. The key task is to improve the two countries' relations in the public-social, media and NGO fields," Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Public and Social Department Ali Hasanov told Trend News when commenting results of his Russia visit on May 15.

Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Public and Social Department Ali Hasanov visited Moscow. Hasanov met with Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Sergey Narishkin and CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev.

Hasanov said that his meetings in Moscow focused on exchanging opinions to improve the relations in the public-social, media and NGO field, the future relations between the two countries' public-social organizations, as well as events to be held amongst media and youth different fields.

The presidential administration's official said that a key topic of his meeting with Lebedev was Azerbaijani youth's participation in this or other events as part of the "Youth Year" announced by the CIS in 2009.

"We have discussed principles and ways of the Azerbaijani youth's participation in the CIS Youth Forum to be held in Azerbaijan and other countries. Moreover, we exchanged our opinions on Azerbaijan's participation in the public, social and political relations which have been established as part of the CIS," Hasanov said.

Hasanov said he visited different Russian news agencies and got familiarization with their work conditions during the visit. "We have discussed issues on establishing relations between the Azerbaijani and Russian news agencies and media," the head of the department said. Moreover, the sides discussed to organize meetings between the Azerbaijani and Russian NGO, round table between the two countries' youth, hold joint events with participations of the media, as well as participation of the Azerbaijani and Russian youth and NGO in mutual events.
