Azerbaijani Duet Gets Into Eurovision -2009 Final

Azerbaijan, Baku, May 15 /Trend Life, Vugar Imanov/ The second semi-final of the Eurovision-2009 took place in Olympysky sports complex in Moscow on May 14-15. The final list of finalists was determined. The contest began with the potpourri of songs of former Eurovision winners of previous years accompanied with Russian national dancers, Russian dolls, and big white and black bears.

Presenters were Nataliya Vodyanova and Andrei Malakhov. Specialists say the strongest participants performed in the second semi-final. The participants performed in the following order (country and performer):

1), Croatia, Igor Tsurkov, "Lijepa Tena", 2) Ireland, a group of Sinead Mulvey & Black Daisy, "Et Cetera", 3), Latvia, Intars Busulis, "Probka", 4), Serbia, Marko Kon & Milaan, "Cipela , 5), Poland, Lidia Kopaniya, "I Don't Wanna Leave", 6) Norway, Alexander Rybak, "Fairytale", 7), Cyprus, Christina Metaxa, "Firefly", 8), Slovakia, Kamil Mikulchik and Nela Potsiskova, "Let tmou", 9) Denmark, Niels Brink, "Believe Again", 10), Slovenia, the group Quartissimo feat. Martina, "Love Symphony", 11), Hungary, Adok Zoli, "Dance With Me", 12) Azerbaijan, Aysel and Arash, "Always", 13), Greece, Sakis Ruvas, "This Is Our Night", 14) Lithuania, Sasha Son, "Love", 15) Moldova, Nelli Cobanu, "Hora din Moldova", 16) Albania, Casey Tolai, "Carry Me In Your Dreams", 17), Ukraine, Svetlana Loboda, "Be my Valentine", 18) Estonia, group of Urban Symphony, "Randajad", 19) The Netherlands, the group The Toppers, "Shine".

According to the rules of Eurovision, spectators chose the nine finalists of the 19 participants in the second semifinal by sms-call vote and a jury headed by a Russian singer and producer Philip Kirkorov chose the tenth candidate to victory in the Eurovision-09.

Thus, Turkey, Sweden, Israel, Portugal, Malta, Finland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Armenia, Iceland, France, Russia, Germany, Britain and Spain were joined by the participants from Azerbaijan, Croatia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Albania, Moldova, Denmark, Estonia, Norway, Greece.

The 25 finalists will compete on May 16.

Voting member countries in the final of Eurovision is as follows:

The right to vote first received Spain, then - Belgium, Belarus, Malta, Germany, Czech Republic, Sweden, Iceland, France, Israel, Russia, Latvia, Montenegro, Andorra, Finland, Switzerland, Norway, Bulgaria, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Macedonia, Slovakia, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Turkey, Albania, Serbia, Cyprus, Poland, Netherlands, Estonia, Croatia, Portugal, Romania, Ireland, Germany, Moldova, Slovenia, Armenia, Hungary, and Azerbaijan.
