THAT BORDER SHALL NOT BE OPENED UNTIL INVASION ENDS, ERDOGAN
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made assuring statements about Karabakh issue at a joint press conference with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan in Baku. Erdogan said that Turkey would not open its border with Armenia unless this country ends its invasion of Upper Karabakh.

HISTORICAL VISA STEP FROM GERMANY
Sending a declaration to the police department and provincial interior
ministries, the German Federal Ministry of Interior said that Turkish citizens who are traveling to Germany to attend scientific events or art or sports activities cannot be asked for visas. The declaration said that Turkish workers who travel to Germany to carry out repair, revision or mounting services shall not be asked for visas as well. Turkish truck drivers, who transport goods from Turkey to Germany, will also be able to travel to this country without visas for up to 2 months.

BORDER ASSURANCE TO AZERIS
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan paid a formal visit to Azerbaijan
together with five of his ministers. Erdogan said border with Armenia would not be opened unless occupation in Upper Karabakh ends.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude to Erdogan and said, "there can not be any other open response. I am grateful to this response. There is no place for suspicion".

A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH IN BANK BRANCH
A person wearing a snow mask and carrying a rifle attempted to rob a bank branch in Kusadasi town in Aegean province of Aydin.
The robber took 17 people hostage and the incident which started at 10.30 a.m. ended after 7 hours when the police detained the robber.

FULL ASSURANCES TO AZERBAIJAN
Dark clouds over Turkey's relations with Azerbaijan dispersed with the
initiatives of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan gave assurances both in his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his address at Azerbaijani Parliament.
Erdogan said, "even enouncing that Turkey gave up Upper Karabakh is a slander. We will not open border gates unless occupation ends. Azerbaijan's territorial integrity should be preserved."

7 HOURS OF NIGHTMARE IN BANK BRANCH
An assailant named Serkan Saglam raided a bank branch in Kusadasi town in Aegean province of Aydin and took 15 people hostage. Police rendered the assailant ineffective in an operation.

ALICAN WILL NOT BE OPENED IF INVASION CONTINUES, ERDOGAN
Replying to a question at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani
President Ilham Aliyev in Baku, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey closed its border gate with Armenia after this country invaded Upper Karabakh. "We will not open the border gates unless the invasion ends," Erdogan said. Upon Erdogan's remarks, Aliyev said that he did not have any doubts about this matter anymore.

MONEY SAVED BY UZANS FOR "BAD DAYS" BROUGHT BACK TO TURKEY
Turkey's Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) won its legal war that lasted 5 years. As a first step of the legal process carried out by the fund against the Uzan family, the family's 196 million-USD worth savings at several Swiss banks were transferred to the fund's bank accounts.

BORDER PROMISE AT BAKU
Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who paid an official visit to Azerbaijan,
spoke at a press conference with Azerbaijani President Aliyev and said that it was not possible to open the border with Armenia until Upper Karabakh issue is solved. "Who says this? The prime minister of the Republic of Turkey. Could there be a more assuring statement than that?" Erdogan said.

4 ARRANGEMENTS TO KURDISH LANGUAGE
Officials said that Justice and Development (AK) Party would give priority to the cultural aspect while launching the basis axis of its Kurdish move.
Accordingly, "Kurdish Language and Literature" departments will be
established at universities in eastern or southeastern Anatolia or Istanbul and Ankara, moreover, Kurdish language will be offered as a selective course at secondary schools.

FRIENDLY CONVERSATION CONTINUES AT FULL SPEED WITH AZERAIJAN
Visit of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Azerbaijan started under the shadow of Azerbaijan's reactions against possibility of Turkey's opening border with Armenia but ended with the message of "full agreement".
Speaking to his people after the meeting, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said; "we don't have suspicions and drawbacks anymore."
"We will not allow mischief makers. Opening of borders is out of question unless occupation ends," Erdogan said.

TEMPERATURES TO RISE 4 DEGREES
Rain is expected in northern parts of the country today. However,
temperatures are expected to rise about 4 degrees Celsius throughout the country till the weekend.

BROTHER'S PROMISE
"Border gate tension" between Turkey and Azerbaijan ended after visit of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Baku.
Erdogan said, "we closed the borders when Upper Karabakh was occupied. I am expressing very clearly that we will not open the gate unless the occupation ends."

POLICE SEARCH FOR ARSENAL IN USKUDAR COASTLINE
Divers looked for weapon and ammunition in the sea after a citizen found a hand grenade in the sea while fishing in Uskudar district in Istanbul.
No arsenal was found in the sea in searches carried out with underwater detectors.

DOUBTS VANISH, SMILES APPEAR ON FACES
Paying a visit to the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, Premier Recep Tayyip
Erdogan said that Turkey had the same sensitivity as Azerbaijan regarding the Upper Karabakh issue. "The border gates will not be opened unless the invasion ends," Erdogan said. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev thanked Erdogan for his remarks and said that he had no doubts on this issue.

LET US BEGIN NEW ERA WITH NEW CONSTITUTION, TOPTAN
Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan spoke to Zaman daily on issues such as the amendments to be made in the Constitution, Ergenekon case and Kurdish issue.
Toptan said that Turkey needed a new constitution that would make it more democratic and liberal. Noting that the necessary conditions were present in the country, Toptan said, "Let us begin the new era with a new constitution".

10 PERCENT DISCOUNT TO ELECTRICITY
A discount of 10-15 percent is expected to be made to electricity starting as of July 1.
Recalling that there was discount in natural gas prices, officials said they have been examining application regarding the new price list.
