Wednesday, 6 May 2009Turkey's new Energy Minister Taner Yıldız vowed to carry on continuing projects with utmost care while pursuing a more liberal and competitive energy policy.
Delivering a speech at the Eurasia Economic Summit in Istanbul, Yildiz said there were important developments regarding Turkey's geopolitic and geostrategic position, noting that Turkey had to take advantage of these.
Answering questions from reporters, Yildiz said Wednesday that energy suply security was an area that needed close scrutiny noting that nabucco project and gas agreements with Azarbaijan were among their priorities.
Yildiz said they did not observe any negative attitudes regarding Nabucco during talks with Azarbaijan.
He said Turkey was determined to fulfill its duties in the transportation of the natural gas within the scope of this project adding that they were ready to reach an agreement regarding this. |
