Monday, 4 May 2009LONDON - Turkey's renowned concert pianist Idil Biret performed in London on Saturday and received a standing ovation from around 1,000 Britons.
Biret performed as part of the Whitehall Orchestra.
The concert took place at Saint John's Smith Square, an old church.
Idil Biret performed in many European countries before. She also gave concerts as part of the BBC Orchestra and London Symphony Orchestra.
Biret was born in Ankara in 1941.
