The Council of Europe has announced a competition "Europe: Common Heritage" and "My Country" for Azerbaijan's young photographers.

Photographic competition began on May 1. The competition is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan. The event aims to reveal Azerbaijan's rich cultural heritage and campaigning moral and ethical heritage of Azerbaijan as component of European culture and youth's love for their country, the ministry said.

The ministry said young participants must provide the Organizing Committee with color or black and white photos of size 20 x 30 cm with an image of an object of cultural heritage in Azerbaijan, national, cultural values or historical monuments in printed form or on CD ROM.

Besides photos, information about the author must also be provided. The competition will run through May 11.

Photos of winners will be sent to Barcelona. The Council of Europe will design catalogue of the photos. Winners will be awarded Council of Europe certificates.
