The armed man fired through pistol in the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, an eyewitness, student of the Academy International Relations and Management Faculty Rashad Allahverdiyev said.

"The offender was in jeans jacket and a cap," Allahverdiyev said.

"We failed to distinguish the armed man due to fear of opened fire," he said. Allahverdiyev is in the Musa Nagiyev Clinical Hospital. All other wounded people were also delivered to this hospital.

The armed man was neutralized, Trend News correspondent reported from the scene of the accident. Deputy Internal Minister Vilayat Eyvazov confirmed the information. According to unofficial information, the offender committed a suicide.

According to preliminary investigation, 8-10 people were killed, the Baku Prosecutor Office reported.
