Friday, 24 April 2009ANKARA - A delegation of Turkish businessmen led by Foreign Trade Undersecretary Tuncer Kayalar will pay visits to Latin American countries, Paraguay and Uruguay, from April 27 to 30.
Kayalar said in a statement on Friday that Turkey's trade volume with Latin American countries increased to 5.4 billion USD from 1.5 billion USD in the last 3 years as a result of Turkey's strategy aiming at improving its commercial relations with those countries.
Under the strategy, the delegation will first visit Paraguay on April 27-28. Then, Turkish businessmen will proceed to Uruguay and hold talks on April 29 and 30.
During the visit to Paraguay, Kayalar is set to meet with President Fernando Armindo Lugo Mendez, Foreign Minister Alejandro Hamed Franco, Industry & Commerce Minister Martin Heisecke and Public Works Minister Efrain Alegre.
In Uruguay, Kayalar will hold talks with President Gonzalo Fernandez, Housing Minister Carlos Colacce and Transportation & Public Works Minister Victor Rossi.
During the visit, a commercial, economic and technical cooperation agreement will be signed with Uruguay. Also, a memorandum of understanding will be signed between Turkey and Paraguay to set up a regular consultation mechanism for construction services.
