Turkish FM Travels to Armenia

The Turkish foreign minister travelled to Armenia early on Thursday.

Turkey's Foreign Minister Ali Babacan went to Armenia to participate in the 20th meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).

Babacan is expected to deliver a speech in the meeting.

Participants of the meeting will discuss appointments in the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat, possible means of strengthening the cooperation of BSEC with international organizations dealing with issues of protection and rehabilitation of the Black Sea marine environment, the use of BSEC funds for projects of regional impact.

Armenia is expected to hand over the rotating presidency of BSEC to Azerbaijan at the end of the meeting.

Azerbaijan will be the president of the organization for six months, starting on May 1 and ending on October 31.
