Russian Gas Production Down 12% Year-on-Year in January-February

Russian natural gas production was 105 billion cubic meters in January-February 2009, a drop of 12.2% on the same period last year, the Federal Statistics Service said Monday.

Gas production in February was down 9.7% on January and 14.1% on February 2008.

Oil production fell 2.2% year-on-year in January-February 2009 to 78.2 million tons, the statistics service said.

February's oil production was down 3.7% on last February.
