Azerbaijan, Baku, March 31 /Trend News/ On March 31, Azerbaijan marks the Day of the Azerbaijani Genocide.  In March 1918, Stepan Shaumyan's Dashnak-Bolshevik government seized power and launched genocide against the Azerbaijani people. In March to April, ethnic Azerbaijanis were slaughtered in Baku, Shamakhi and other regions. During the period, Turkey offered assistance to Azerbaijan and rescued the people from being killed by Armenians.
The 31st of March is the commemoration day of the tragic events in the history of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people which took place in the recent hundred years. The scandalous facts of massacre, repressions, eviction of Azerbaijanis from their native land may be considered one of the tragic pages in the history of the 20th century. This tragic history of the Azerbaijani people reflects the Armenian chauvinism about creation of the Great Armenia and not disdaining to use any means to achieve their goal.

Azerbaijan marks March 31 as genocide under the decree signed by national leader Heydar Aliyev in 1998.

feel sorry for you guys -- one should take really hard medicines or be indeed stupid to overlook the myth surrounding the so-called Armenian genocide; one should be blinded to the extent as to remain insensitive to other people's (read Azeris' sufferings from Armenians in 1918, as well as in 1992 in Khojaly) sufferings just because this does not line up neatly with the Armenian version of a falsified history. Wake up, guys!

The Azerbaijani GENOCIDE? Are you kidding? How can you stand behind this story? If there's any justice in the world, it will take place when President Obama recognize the ARMENIAN GENOCIDE this April 24th.

idiot turks and azeris, you do realise you are the only news media carrying this silly story! You can try as much as you want but you will never stop the world recognising the Armenian Genocide committed by you dog turks. You will eventually pay with land and money so start getting used to the idea.
