Azerbaijani Prosecutor Demands To Sentence 14 Gang-members Charged Of "ecstasy" Smuggling

An Azerbaijani prosecutor demanded to sentence 14 gang-members, including People's Actress Ilhama Guliyeva's son, former Prosecutor of Baku Adalat Mirsalamov's son and former Prosecutor of Azizbayov District Rashad Hasanov's son, who are charged of drugs smuggling.

The prosecutor made a speech at the juridical procedure on March 30, the serious crime court told Trend News.

Orkhan Nadirov, Mahir Mirsaslanov, Yalchin Hasanov, Elshan Rustamov, Ali Ismayilov, Zubiya Gulami, Vugar Aliyev, Javidan Aliyev, Ramin Hasanov Kamila Eyvazova, Elshan Budagov, Hasan Hasanov and Mirali Aliyev are accused of the Article 206 (smuggling), 234.1( illegal acquiring or keeping of drug) and 234.4.1 (illegal acquiring or keep of drug for private use) of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijani Republic.

The accused were arrested as a result of the operation, which was held by the National Security Ministry in May. Ecstasy, one kind of drug, was withdrawn from them.

The prosecutor demanded to sentence Yalchin Hasanov to 9-year imprisonment, Hasan Hasanov and Ruslan Rustamov - 8-year imprisonment, Ruslan Zaliyev, Vugar Aliyev and Javid Aliyev - 5-year imprisonment, Kamil Eyvazov - one-year imprisonment, Ramin Hasanov, Elshan Budagov and Mirali Aliyev - one-year and 6-month imprisonment, Zubiya Gulami - 7-year imprisonment, as well as Ali Ismayilov - 8-year and 6-month imprisonment.

The prosecutor demanded to convict People's Actress Ilhama Aliyeva's son Orkhan Nadirov in accordance with the Article 307 (not reporting on crimes and earlier not promised  concealing crime) of the Criminal Code and regards a term within which he was arrested as sentence and release him.

The juridical procedure will continue in the second half of the day with lawyers' speeches.

At previous procedures, the court decided to separate Mirsalamov's lawsuit from a general case due to his serious disease and cancel his lawsuit.
