Tuesday, 17 March 2009South Africa will be promoted in an Aegean Turkish city this week, the honorary consul of the country said on Tuesday.
Tamer Taskin, the honorary consul of South Africa in the Aegean city of Izmir, said that the city would host a South African festival between March 18 and 22.
"Residents of Izmir will be introduced with the South African culture and cuisine during the festival," Taskin told a press conference.
South African cooks Johan Odendaal and Peter Veldsman will serve their food, and Barnyard Theater will perform "Under African Skies" show.
The festival will also feature "Wine&dine" events, and end with a brunch on Sunday. |
