DIYARBAKIR, Turkey - Turkey's Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) found an oil field of 16 million barrels with a gravity of 26 at a depth of 1800 meters while drilling in the Tasdam town of the Egil district of Diyarbakir province, SE Turkey.

The reserve discovered in the joint drilling with French Prenco company is far from meeting Turkey's demand but it bears great importance as it is the largest reserve discovered in Turkey, and it bears hope for discovering larger reserves.
