Turkish General Staff: Israeli General's Statement is Irresponsible |

Sunday, 15 February 2009ANKARA - Turkish Chief of General Staff sees the Israel general Mizrahi as "irresponsible man" after his accusation against Turkey and its prime minister.
Turkish Army statement said Israeli general's statement was "misguiding and falsifying realities, transgressional, unfortunate, irresponsible and unacceptable".
Israeli General Mizrahi had attacked Prime Minister Erdogan for what the Turkish leader criticized Israeli President Shimon Peres at another international conference, the World Economic Forum in Davos. Haaretz reported that Mr. Mizrahi called on Erdogan to look in the mirror. Israeli General had further accused Turkey of committing massacre of the Armenians and the suppression of the Kurds. Ai Mizrahi also mentioned the so-called Turkish occupation of northern Cyprus.
Turkish General Staff statement also underlined that Mr. Mizrahi's words were so serious that may harm bilateral national interests between Turkey and Israel. Turkish Army also asked Israeli General Staff to clarify its position regarding the recent media reports.
