Gaza – A medical committee in the Gaza Strip applauded the arrival of 36 specialist doctors through the Rafah crossing on Sunday.

According to the International Emergency and Relief Committee in Gaza, the new arrivals will enable life-saving surgeries and participate in the overall reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Committee head Munir Al-Barsh said "the situation in Gaza is dangerous and requires every effort to support the Palestinians."

Al-Barsh added that the committee will make every effort to "support the Palestinians and humanitarian cases."

He also appealed for the international community to protect hospitals, paramedics, health facilities and medical staff to enable them to "do their duty toward the injured during the Israeli war on Gaza," indicating that 13 paramedics and doctors have already been killed during the Israeli onslaught.

The committee called for the international community and human rights organizations to urgently send their own medical committees to see for themselves the number of injured and Israel's usage of poisonous substances as evidenced by the conditions of some Palestinians' bodies, including a few that are still living.

The committee also demanded that international organizations pressure Israel to stop using internationally prohibited weapons against unarmed civilians.

It noted that Israel had been using "a new kind of explosive, containing poisonous and radioactive substances that cause burns and tear the bodies of those shelled by it."

The committee called for continuing fundraising for Gaza's reconstruction fund and for all relief organizations to rush "to save the 1.5 million who are suffering of thirst, starvation and illness."

Al-Barsh also praised international solidarity with the Palestinians, "which is escalating," and for denouncing ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza.

He concluded by saying that rallies against the Israeli war on Gaza across the world "clearly demonstrate the world's rejection of Israel's attacks."
