Gaza – Ma’an – Islamic Jihad’s military wing, the Al-Quds Brigades, one of the parties to the conflict in Gaza, said on Friday that a new UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire has nothing to do with the welfare of Palestinians.

Al-Quds Brigades spokesperson Abu Ahmad said in a statement, “We supposed that the Security Council would criminalize the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and would call for their immediate withdrawal and lift the blockade and open the crossings.”

The Security Council passed a Resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire on Thursday night.

He also said that other Palestinian factions would continue with resistance to the Israeli invasion “without regret.”
