* Israel hits schools

Israeli missiles crashed into two U.N. schools Mondoy, killing at least 30 people in one school and three more in the other attack. A number of children were among those who died. At least 55 injured when Israeli artillery shells landed outside a United Nations-run school in Gaza, UN officials have said.14,000 people had sought refuge in U.N. schools throughout the Gaza Strip.

As many as 640 Palestinians have died and 2,850 were wounded in the 11 days of fighting so far according to medical sources.
