Tuesday, 6 January 2009Jerusalem – Ma’an – The chief justice of Palestine's highest court accused Israel of ethnic cleansing in its "bloody massacre" in Gaza in a Tuesday statement.
Chief Justice Sheikh Dr Taysir At-Tamimi, who is also the head of the Palestinian Legislative Council's judiciary, said Israel is committing a "massacre" in Gaza “in front of the entire world.” He called it a “a dishonor for the international community to remain silent."
"Israeli troops are assaulting Palestinians and targeting residents, children and mothers...and it was all planned by Israel," he added.
At-Tamimi confirmed that the PLC calls for the immediate stop of the massacre, and will defend Gazans with all the political and financial support it can provide.
He also called for all the Arab leaders to move and make decisions to rescue the Gaza Strip and protect them from being homeless, he asked that the international community to break the silence and take responsibility for the ongoing massacre. |
