HP Middle East today announced it has expanded it entertainment strategy by signing as the technology partner for this year's Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) and its new initiative, the Dubai Film Market 2008.

The Dubai Film Market is inline with DIFF's commitment to raising the visibility of world cinema with an emphasis on Arab, Asian and African filmmakers and stimulating regional and international film production and trade.

The main highlight of the Dubai Film Market is the introduction of a revolutionary process to acquire audio-visual content, through Cinetech, a digitized film library that will include feature films, documentaries, short films and TV content.

'HP is delighted to help the inspiration and creativity of talented regional filmmakers find audiences quickly and efficiently - creating social and economic benefit across the region. Today, exploding consumer demand for content anytime, anywhere is accelerating and with an unmatched portfolio of technologies, solutions, services and partners, HP is enabling the shift from analogue to digital - transforming the way content is created, managed, distributed and enjoyed,'

said Anil Kumar, General Manager, Personal Systems Group, HP Middle East.

HP, who has a strong history in the entertainment field, partners with similar film events around the world including Cannes and Sundance Film Festivals and provides high-end graphic workstations that have been used to create recent hit animated movies such as Shrek and KungFu Panda.

HP's workstations will be used to help participants browse and screen through more than 200 titles ranging from feature films and documentaries to short films and other TV content. Combining next-generation performance technologies into a powerful, flexible and reliable single processor socket workstation, the HP xw4600 Workstation is designed and engineered to give SMBs a professional edge.

Also at DIFF, HP Graphics will be printing the celebrities signed red carpet photographs on its latest large format printer, the DesignJet Z3200, which will be later displayed at the DIFF gallery. The DesignJet Z3200 printer series is specifically designed for the creative market, including professionals in photography, graphic design, proofing and fine arts, to produce beautiful, gallery-quality photographs and fine art prints, eye-catching advertisements and magazine layouts, and accurate color contract proofs.
