The Cabinet of Ministers has sent a letter to the Ministry of Transport and the Caspian Shipping Company (CSC) requesting them to ensure favorable conditions for the Accountancy Chamber (AC) to conduct audits.
A source from the Chamber has said that the Transport Ministry has sent another letter to the CSC containing the same request.
The CSC spokesman Vugar Sadigov has said that the company has not received such a letter.
"The audits by the Chamber are ordered and a relevant decision will be made if the CSC receives such a letter," said Sadigov. The AC intends to audit the CSC to find out whether or not the company efficiently uses the budget funds, according to the 2003-2004 financial report, and to look into the compliance of use of the state property with relevant legal acts.
Several days ago, the shipping company stated that considering it is not funded by the state budget and contributes billions of manats to the budget every year, it was not subject to audits by the Accountancy Chamber and that latter was authorized to audit only budget-funded organizations. |
